Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith founded Hotmail in 1995 with the vision to make it possible to communicate over the Internet from any computer in the world. Sabeer and Jack have extensive technical backgrounds leading successful projects at Apple Computer, Inc., and FirePower Systems, Inc. With Hotmail they are tapping in on their technical and leadership experience to create the company that will reshape the way people communicate over the World Wide Web.
Sabeer Bhatia, President and CEO
Sabeer was one of the original employees at FirePower Systems, Inc., a Silicon Valley startup company. At FirePower he designed and managed projects for complex workstation class computers designed around the PowerPC processor. Prior to FirePower, Sabeer was the System Integrator at Apple Computer, Inc., where he coordinated the design and manufacturing for the current generation of portables.
Sabeer earned his Masters of Science from Stanford University and his Bachelors of Science, with honors, from Caltech.
Jack Smith, Chief Technology Officer
Jack played a key role at FirePower Systems, Inc., where he designed integrated circuits for use in high performance PowerPC workstations. As founder and president of EEE.com, Jack has extensive experience building custom Internet Web solutions. Jack's engineering experience began at Apple Computer, Inc., where he worked on several of Apple's early PowerBook Computers.
